Travel Vaccines

Travel Vaccines

Going on safari to East Africa? Taking a cruise to Brazil? Headed off for a missionary trip to India? Planning to tour China and Japan? No matter where in this world your plans take you, our travel medicine service can get you prepared for a healthy and enjoyable trip.

As part of your pre-travel exam and consultation I perform a medical history and preventive exam focused on your specific medical conditions. I then advise you of vaccines, medications and other precautions needed for you to have a safe and happy trip. We now accept our contracted insurances for travel services if you have verified coverage for this type of preventive medical exam and travel immunization.

Insurances we contract with are Blue Cross, Avmed, Humana (PPO only), Cigna and United Health Care. If you have another type of coverage for travel vaccines we will provide you a receipt for services which you can use to seek reimbursement for amounts you paid. For further questions call us at (352) 259-1991.

During your pre-travel exam our physician will make specific recommendations for vaccines and otherpreventive measures tailored to your health condition and specific destination(s). For a general ideaof vaccines you might need check the CDC website for the specific countries you plan to visit.Follow the link on this page for CDC Travel Health.
